Hanging it Up

It's time to say goodbye to this sweet little blog. I've enjoyed my time publicly helping my family save money and finding some great deals in our area, but after returning home this afternoon and finding our house burglurized it's time to put my family's saftey first.

It's an interesting thing having your house rummaged through. Knowing that other's have seen who you are without even knowing you. It's weird, the uncomfortable kind of weird. I've gone through a wide range of emotions today from being frustrated, angry, sad, even feeling bad for the little punks. It's not a feeling I wish on anyone.

What I do know is life isn't about stuff. Even though they took some things that carry alot of memories, I know my greatest gift isn't wrapped up in stuff, it's the life I look forward to after this one. (But it does stink that they did take our computer.)

Thank you all for following me on this journey. Feel free to enjoy the archives I hope you'll be blessed by something you'll find.

It's been fun!
Erica

  3. I am so sorry! You don't know me, but I have read your blog everyday for the past 6 months. You have been such a blessing to my family since I was laid off and decided to stay home with my son. Thank you for everything that you have done for me! I will be praying for you and your family.

  4. I also have had this happen when my daughter was 2 years old and I was a single mom and it was just 5 days before Christmas. We didn't have much, but what we did have, they took. The TV and vhs player that still had her 101 dalmation tape in it, microwave and luckily at the time I had no computer. But to see my baby girls pictures just scattered all over the floor with broken glass just crushed me more than anything. I remember the weird odd feeling you speak of, of how someone (a stranger) has been in your house going through your things. Such an invasion I felt that I had never known. They had done this to 3 other homes and were eventually caught. For me it ended up not being so much about the stuff, but so thankful me and my daughter were not at home during that night as we stayed at my moms that night. I am thankful you and your family are safe and I pray God heals those indifferent feelings. I hope someday you come back to blog and are able to move on. But you are right, your family's safety is always priority. God Bless

  5. I've have been there, in the grip of being violated. You are right about it being an uncomfortable kind of weird. They say that most often it is someone you know or someone who is familiar with your comings and goings. I'm just starting to blog this week and find it a fascinating tool to express oneself and share. I found your site enjoyable for the short visit; I'm a bit of a frugalist. Hopefully you will see your way through and continue at a later date. Good Luck to you!
